Welcome to our International Men's Day Event 2024, brought to you by Applaud Business Consultancy Ltd in association with Doncaster Knights and Andy's Man Club.
The purpose of the event is to bring people together to celebrate men and their roles in a changing society, network, and provide support to anyone who needs it.
Join us for a great event where you will get chance to network, hear from our guest speaker Sir Ian McGeechan, learn more about the work of Andy's Man Club Doncaster from Rob Smith, and have opportunity to get involved with our panel discussion about issues facing men today.
A donation from each ticket sold will go to support the work of Doncaster Knights Foundation and Andy's Man Club.

Sir Ian McGeechan
Director of Rugby
Doncaster Knights
Sir Ian is the Consultant Director of Rugby at Doncaster Knights. Sir Ian excelled as a player, captaining Scotland on nine occasions before moving on to a highly successful coaching career. Scotland, the British & Irish Lions, Northampton Saints and London Wasps have all benefited from his knowledge and drive.
Sir Ian was recognised with an benefited in 1990 and a knighthood in 2010 for services to rugby.

Rob Smith
Andy's Man Club, Doncaster
Rob is a Lead Facilitator at Andy's Man Club in Doncaster. He became involved after using their services himself when he was at his lowest with his mental health.
Rob has opened 3 groups in the city, has has been an advocate for Andy's Man Club, appearing in podcasts, and on radio and TV.
Rob says of Andy's Man Club "It has saved my life"

Jackie Cook
Founder of the Equality in STEM Network
Jackie is a STEM Ambassador, work-wise foundation supporter and has been a member of the Get Up To Speed with STEM committee for 4 years, all involved with helping young people develop careers in engineering and manufacturing.
Jackie is also a mentor with the CIM and Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber mentoring schemes.

It is also an occasion to shine a light on some of the issues that men face, such as abuse, parental alienation, homelessness, violence and suicide.
A: Isn't every day International Men's Day? Well, no! While 'man' has dominated the the narrative for hundreds of years, it is clear that men are facing a range of challenges in todays world. International Men's Day is held to focus on the health and well-being of men, promote gender equality, celebrate the positive contributions of men towards society and promote and encourage positive male role models to create a better and safer place for everyone.
A: The UK themes for International Men's Day remain the same each year, these are:
Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys
Raising awareness and / or funds for charities supporting men and boys wellbeing
Promoting a positive conversation about men, manhood and masculinity
A: You will hear from some great speakers, get chance to participate in discussions around men and their wellbeing, make some great connections with other people, and spark some ideas for conversations or initiatives you can take back to your workplace or home life to make a positive difference to the men you know.
A: The ticket price includes a donation to both the Doncaster Knights Foundation and Andy's Man Club Doncaster to support the work they are doing.
